Twinpalms Phuket: What we liked about the Grand Deluxe Lagoon Pool Room

Twinpalms Phuket is like that imaginary oasis you always dreamed about. Sure, it’s an elegant resort with a functional modern layout. 97 rooms, all with high-speed Wi-Fi, satellite channels on LED TVs, coffee makers, minibars, and other niceties. But let’s talk about that gorgeous pool, because it really is the true reason why Twinpalms Phuket stands out.

The pool takes up a staggering amount of ground space, like an inviting lake in the middle of a little tropical village, spreading from the lobby to the manicured heart of the resort. It’s a zen-like yet hedonistic experience when you stay here, and there’s one major reason to love the resort…

15 Secluded guest rooms have direct pool access

Who can resist wading straight into the inviting waters of the pool from your own private terrace? The Grand Deluxe Lagoon Pool Room is an upgrade from the basic Deluxe Lagoon Pool Room. Both offer direct access to the hotel’s mega-lush pool, with the Grand option giving you a bigger King bed, the addition of a bathtub, and more room space in general. Either way, you’ll wake up to the refreshing view of glittering water and tropical gardens just outside your window. With palm trees and flower beds lining the paths outside, everything looks like a sultry dream.

Access the pool via your own private terrace, just feet away from your comfy bed

Just imagine waking up in the morning, pushing aside the curtains, sliding the doors open, and walking straight into the pool of your dreams! Trust us, you’ll love the easy access to the water from your very own outdoor terrace. The signature Twinpalms Phuket pool itself is split into distinct sections. Guest rooms are connected to the more private lagoon towards the back of the resort, sheltered by lush foliage. This part of the resort embraces an organic-like landscape of undulating curves, stone bridges, and shallow sparkling waters. It’s sexy and convenient.

At night, it looks pretty darn good

As a bonus, the pool embraces mood lighting when the sun goes down, so it actually looks very sensual. Dare we say, more sensual than the pool scene from Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. The pool stays open 24 hours and we reckon resort guests have probably gotten away with skinny dipping when everyone else has gone to bed. It really does get pretty dark and quiet out there.

So, is the Twinpalms Phuket Grand Deluxe Lagoon Pool Room worth it?

As far as rooms go, it’s decently spacious at 62m2 (~667ft2). Outfitted with a Super King Size bed to roll around in, indulgent rain shower, intimate bathtub, and of course, steps leading straight into the luxurious resort pool, it makes for a very romantic setting. We recommend this room for couples looking for a quick getaway. In fact, the resort seems to cater less to families with kids and more to holidaying couples. Of course, it’s by no means an adults-only space, but the fact remains: you’ll hardly see children running about.

If you’re looking for more space (up to 437m2 / 4704 ft2 of it), privacy, and your very own garden or rooftop pool, check out the resort’s phenomenal penthouses and duplexes. Ridiculously gorgeous.
